Matt arrived into Carson City well before I did, as I was struggling up Carson Pass through the Sierra Nevada mountain range on my bicycle. The elevation at Carson Pass was over 8,500 ft. and it had taken an entire day to ascend up the mountains. The good news is that after Carson Pass, it is nothing but downhill, and a relatively flat (some hills) ride to Carson City. So Matt, being the proactive videographer that he is, located High Sierra Brewing Company, and asked them if they wanted to participate as a co-sponsor with “Beer on a Roll”. Gaby, the manager on duty, said she would but would need to confirm with her husband Jim, who was the owner. Since he was at home, I sent him an email and then Matt and I went to a campsite.
What a beautiful campsite, beneath the stars, with a nice view of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. Here’s a pic of our campsite, with Hurley–Matt’s dog. She’s a sweetie.
The next morning, I checked my email and Jim replied that he would like to participate as a co-sponsor. So Matt and I went to High Sierra Brewing Company and met Jim, a jovial person, with a confident/happy speaking voice.
Here’s a shot of the comfortable back patio at High Sierra Brewing Company
Jim gave us a tour of the brewery, and they are currently making plans to expand as demand is outweighing production (a good thing).
Inside, there are very comfortable booths for couples and groups, and welcoming chairs at the bar (with their craft brews on tap). The food is outstanding too, with award-winning chicken wings. The chickens themselves were posthumously recognized.
